What we settle before quoting
A design file and a website are not the same object. These are the three gaps that decide what a build really costs, and we would rather raise them at the start than find them halfway through.
Whether mobile has actually been designed
Plenty of files arrive as desktop only. That is fine, but somebody still has to decide how every section behaves on a phone, and most of your visitors will never see anything else. Either you design that round, or we make the calls and show you them. What does not work is pretending the question is not there.
Which typefaces are deliberate
Files pick up fonts along the way. When a design ends up carrying five families, two or three are usually leftovers from an idea that moved on. Matching all of them faithfully is slower to build, heavier to load, and rarely what the designer actually wanted. One conversation settles it.
Whether the spacing is stated or implied
A file that uses auto layout tells us what should stretch, what should hold, and how much room sits between things. A file drawn by eye leaves all of that to be measured and interpreted. Both are workable. They are not the same amount of work, and the estimate should say so.
Your design becomes a system
Before a line of markup is written we lift the palette, the type scale and the spacing out of the design and set them down as one consistent set. Every value on the finished site then points back to that set, so nothing drifts and later changes stay small.
Colour
Taken as drawn, named by the job it does rather than by its hue, so a brand refresh later is a handful of edits instead of a search through every file.

Written, not converted
Plugins that promise a site at the press of a button give you stacks of nested boxes pinned to fixed positions. They look right at one width, fall apart everywhere else, and leave a page with no real structure underneath. We treat the design as the brief and write the markup properly, with genuine headings, lists and landmarks.
It holds at every width
A design file is a set of chosen widths. A website is every width there is, on hardware you will never see. We make the in between behaviour deliberate and show you the places where the design was silent and we had to choose.
Yours to keep
Plain HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript, or a WordPress theme if you would rather edit it yourself. Nothing locked to us, no licence to renew, no framework you did not ask for.

Anyone can call a build fast or accessible. Below is this page, measured. Every figure is checkable in your own browser in about a minute, and the same numbers are what we hold your build to.

The weight figure is the whole first visit, typefaces included, before anything is cached. The script figure is every line of JavaScript the page runs. There is no framework underneath it, which is why that number is what it is.
Where we stop
We build from designs, we do not draw them. If the design still needs to be made, we are the wrong studio until it exists, and we would rather say that now than take the work and learn on your budget.
